This book is a treatise on the sacred book "Bhagavad Gita" expounding the Advaitic undercurrent that permeates the whole edifice of the treasure house of the Lord's utterances. The author has chosen to project the conversation only within the frame work of a teacher and a taught relationship between the Lord of the Universe, Shri Krishna and his friend and relative Arjuna, a warrior par excellence. This conscious approach is to emphasis the truth that Lord Krishna by His boundless mercy has used Arjuna only as an instrument to teach the true knowledge to the whole world helplessly reeling under the whirling wind of ignorance.
The author, Sri R.Jayaraman, is an adept in Vedanta literature besides being sincere follower of ritualistic Hindu tradition. He is bestowed with an unflinching conviction that he could contribute nothing to the world more than what Sri Bhagavadpadal (Adi Shankara) has already done by way of His commentary on Bhagavad Gita. He is of the view that Bhagavadpadal, being the World-teacher has chosen not to stress certain intricate issues considering the non-applicability of the same to all people. In this book he has not felt any such inhibitions for his target audience are only those aspiring for liberation and hence following the foot steps of the revered teacher has minced no words in bringing forth the Truth of Advaitic essence of the ambrosial words of the Lord.
At places the interpretations appear quite strange, this, however on deeper analysis would become the residual conclusion to any wise person. The force with which views are expressed would certainly blow a death knell on the revolting minds leading to establishment in enduring peace.
